Master the Cycles of Your Emotional Rollercoaster
I’ve been saying this for a long time—mostly to myself.
“Corliss, you must submit all of your emotions under the Lordship of Christ.”
God gave us emotions as part of our humanity. Joy. Anger. Passion. We were created in His image, and emotion is part of that expression. But without righteous alignment, emotions can spiral into carnal, fleshly reactions—and before you know it, you’re off the rails and beating yourself up again.
If you’ve found yourself caught in an emotional cycle, you’re not alone. But here’s how we begin to master the ride:
3 Anchors to Steady Your Emotions
1. Stay aware of His presence.
“Pray without ceasing.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:17
When you stay in constant communion with the Lord, His nearness begins to govern your reactions before your emotions can take the lead.
2. Don’t be impulsive.
“Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.” — James 1:19
Compulsion is a trap. A quick response can create long-term damage. Breathe. Pause. Pray.
3. Operate with the mind of Christ.
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 2:5
We’ve been given access to divine perspective. When you feel the emotional waves coming, go higher. Think like Christ.

Sometimes, it’s after a breakthrough that emotional instability sneaks in. A prophetic word is spoken, a victory is won, and suddenly — fires break out. Relationship tension. Financial pressure. Mental warfare. It’s all designed to disrupt your momentum and stall your growth.
This is why we stay sober. We stay alert.
Don’t let your guard down. Don’t measure the moment as untouchable. Even in the high places, stay grounded in Him.
We don’t fight for victory—we fight from victory.
Stay planted. Stay guarded. Stay in Him.
